The International Kite Festival showcases some of the most exotic and creative kite designs on the sandy beaches ofΒ Berck-sur-Mer.

The International Kite Festival is an annual event held in Berck-sur-MerΒ over the past 25 years. Over the years it has become an event not to be missed on the CΓ΄te d’Opale. For 10 days in Spring, wind and sea enthusiasts, athletes or thrill-seekers can admire many giant kites, each with its own originality. This year’s edition started on AprilΒ 9 and will go on until April 17.

Almost 700,000 spectators, locals and tourists, come to the vast Berck-sur-Mer beach to admire some ofΒ the world’s best kite-makers’ new creations. The festival is touted as entertainment for all ages allowing even little kids to learn how to make and fly kites in a safe environment. Kites come in all shapes and sizes and themes like Marine life, astonishing flying creatures, giant octopuses or even memorable characters from your childhood. Teams comprising people of various nationalities finally battle it out withΒ demonstrations, performances and synchronised choreographies.
