Create your own mood the next time you find yourself this cozy!
It’s that time of the year when the rain will break your weekend plans and get you trapped indoors. It could be a bit boring but instead let the monsoon set the mood for your lazy day in. Grab a blanket, some headphones and get going with these tracks:
1. Hozier – Work Song
This track by the ‘Take Me To Church’ hit-maker is yet another beauty with amazing lyrics. If this doesn’t make you wanna sway around, nothing can.
2. Holocene – Bon Iver
Bon Iver’s classic soul sound is amplified in this simple and understated track. The incredible video is yet another great addition to the feel of the track.
3. Islands – The XX
The group’s debut album had this smooth bass-lined track. The track is one that’ll get you in the zone when it comes to nostalgia during the monsoon.
4. Barcelona – George Ezra
Get lost in the deep tone that is George Ezra’s voice. The soft electric guitar pairs excellently with the singer’s voice and will definitely make your mood a bit brighter.
5. No Diggity – Chet Faker
Nick Murphy puts his own creative spin on Blackstreets’ hip-hop track and this one has been our favourite version of the track, ever done. Their live performance is one you should check out too.
6. The Cave – Mumford & Sons
A blast from the past! This track put the British band on the map all the way back in 2010. The whimsical quality and the folk sound will get you singing along in a matter of seconds.
7. Sound & Color – Alabama Shakes
In all honesty, you could hear this song for an entire hour and then hear it for another. The infectious beats, paired perfectly with Brittany Howard’s voice, makes the best combination you could ask for. Blues just got elevated and we love it.
8. Keep Your Head Up – Ben Howard
One of the most underrated British artists, Ben Howard needs to be on your music playlist regardless! You can’t help but get sucked into his voice and talent and this track proves it.
9. Mess Is Mine – Vance Joy
Way before you heard this tune on ’13 Reasons Why’, Vance Joy’s track was followed by his infamous track “Riptide”. This energetic tune is one that has a simple message which you’ll need to hear for yourself to decode.
10. Love On the Weekend – John Mayer
John Mayer’s new album has had a bit of mixed reviews but how could you not love that voice! This nostalgic track is filled with blues elements which suit him in the best way possible.
