It’s the start of a brand new year and with that comes a whole range of new events, festivals, plays, programmes,Β  concerts and parties to look forward to. We all know that Vh1 Supersonic is making it’s way to Pune from the 10th to 12th of February for a fiery edition and even better ticket prices.

The sheer numberΒ of events taking placeΒ this year areΒ so vast that we couldn’t even move past the first few months! Even with SulaFest gearing up for their 10th edition in Nashik from 3rd to 5th of Feb (tickets), it’s a jam-packed schedule of events overΒ the next few months.

But here are those mid-sized festivals that have something special planned ensuring your 2017 gets off to a fire-pumping start!

1. Jaipur Lit Fest

Calling all book lovers, literature enthusiastic and aspiring poets! Celebrated writers and thinkers from across the globe; embrace your passion for the written word as a true art form, and engage in intriguing debates, discussions and dialogue as the Jaipur Lit Fest is back for its 10th year! 2. Nariyal Paani 2017

3. Taalbelia

4. GOAT Festival

This quirky festival features music and art from around the world; bringing the festivities to the shores of Goa every year. 5. Udaipur World Music Festival

Back for its second edition, the Udaipur World Music Festival has opened the eyes of Rajastani people to global music, talent, culture and performers. It has given music lovers of the city insight and exposure to a whole new world of music like never before. 6. Mahindra Blues Festival

I’ve got the blues, baby! Leave it to the artists to drive those blues away. Whether it’s the therapeutically healing sound of the artists you crave or just an evening of soulful music to escape your troubles, Asia’s biggest blues festival is back to rock Mehboob studio. The Mahindra Blues Festival has been bringing together some of the best blues musicians from around the world for the past 6 years. In addition to giving Indian blues bands a chance to showcase their talent alongside International artists on the big stage; MBF has also won the 2014 ‘Keeping The Blues Alive’ award presented by the Blues Foundation of America. You don’t really need another reason, do you?

7. Desert Festival Jaisalmer

Looks like Rajasthan is getting 2017 off to a flying start! The desert of Rajasthan is all set to come alive with colour, enthusiasm and happiness as the annual Jaisalmer Desert Festival is all set to grace the gorgeous Golden Desert City of Jaisalmer this February. This cultural festival features camel races, turban tying competitions, best moustache competitions as well as folk musical performance under the moonlight and culturally rich experiences. Not many people know this, but the cultural festival emerged due to an ancient legend. In the year 1196, Lord Krishna’s prophecy came true, leading to celebrations throughout the kingdom. These celebrations soon developed into a festival that is now celebrated every year.

8. International Yoga Festival

The international yoga festival is going back to the birthplace of Yoga for an authentic and peaceful exercise experience. Learn and practice with the masters of Traditional Yoga as well as Internationally well known yoga schools at this week-longΒ festival. It features over 60 hours of yoga classes and includes different styles of yoga including Kundalini Yoga, Power Vinyasa Yoga, Iyengar Yoga and Kriya Yoga.

The Holi Moo Festival will takeΒ place in New Delhi on 13thΒ March, 2017.Β The festival will feature multiple stages, scrumptious food and really interesting beverage points that will keep you hydrated in the summer heat. After being termedΒ “The second best place in the world to celebrate Holi” by The Wall Street Journal, we don’t think you need any more validation.Β TicketsΒ will be out by Jan-end and will be available online.Β

10. Banff Mountain Film And Book Festival World Tour
