Cause, sometimes one-hit is all it takes…

Many a times we wonder what ever happened to that artist…that did that song? Over time there have been quite a few artists that captured us with that one famous track and then disappeared into oblivion. Here are the best that have stayed with us even as time fades…

1. EUROPE – “The Final Countdown”

The evergreen track that featured in the Rocky series, and was made famous through its incorporation in movies and events such as FIFA, was one of EUROPE’s only notable tracks. We don’t quite mind the disappearance since they left us with this one gem that we’ll cherish forever!

2. Hanson –Β “MMMBop”

90’s American pop-rock band, Hanson, are most notable for the success of this one track thatΒ earned themΒ three Grammy nominations. The song turned into a 90’s classic and left us just wanting more from this band. Sadly their other tracks didn’t have the same fate as their single hit, “MMMBop”

3. Gotye – “Somebody That I Used To Know”

This is a song many people would recognize. Gotye rocked the charts for the longest time with this beautiful song and had us expecting more from the artist. Needless to say, the world was quite disappointed when he just went off the radar! And then this happened…

4. Haddaway – “What Is Love”

Play this song for your parents, and you’ll instantly see them get up and do a jig! Back when disco was the rage in the 90’s, this track was quite the rage at clubs and parties.

5. 4 Non Blondes – “What’s Up”

A cult classic that almost every 90’s kid identifies with, 4 Non Blondes’ “What’s Up” is that perfect song to lift you out of despair. Though we wish the group shared many more such classics with us, we just thank them for giving us this gem!

6.Β Lou Bega – “Mambo No. 5”

If you’ve ever danced to Mambo No.5Β at a gathering, you know you’ve been to a party! Mambo No.5 was that one hit wonder, that no one knew where it dropped out but we didn’t mind! Our feet ain’t complaining either, we just love the music!Β

7. Bobby McFerrin – “Don’t Worry Be Happy”

“Don’t Worry, Be Happy” was popularized by Bob Marley, but the original came from Bobby McFerrin back in 1988. Interesting fact, Bobby McFerrin was inspired by an Indian sage, Meher Baba, who preached the saying- “Don’t Worry, Be Happy”, to all his followers.

8.Β Sir Mix-A-Lot – “Baby Got Back”

Talk about big butts, and it’s hard to not think about “Baby Got Back” byΒ Sir Mix-a-Lot!Β The song became so popular that Nicki Minaj even did a recent spin-off of the song on her own track, “Anaconda”.

9.Β Vanilla Ice – “Ice Ice Baby”

Just listen to the lyrics and sing along to the hook and you’ll know why this one hit wonder is still on the playlist of your parents!

10.Β Baha Men – “Who Let The Dogs Out”

The question still remains, “WHO LET THE DOGS OUT?!”Β The song by Baha Men still remains a popular club track to this day.
