Hear some of the best romantic crooners from the love song maestro, Arijit Singh!Β

Anyone in India knows the force that Arijit Singh is when it comes to producing and belting out some of the best romantic songs in the Hindi film industry. He started out as a contestant on Fame Gurukul back in 2005 and didn’t win the show. But the show did put him on the map as one to look out for. Arijit then started off by building his own setup and began his journey with music programming. The song that first put him on the map was ‘Tum Hi Ho” from “Aashiqui 2”. The song went on to become the love anthem for 2013!

Once he took off, there was no stopping him. He went on to record many more songs for blockbuster Hindi movies as well as singing for regional films. He’s set to make you croon at the Bollywood Music Project on the 30th of September and 1st of October!

The Sherp has made a list of 10 songs by Arijit that is sure to Β make you feel the feels!Β

1. Tum Hi Ho – Aashiqui 2

Aashiqui 2 had big shoes to fill after the commercial and nation wide success of Aashiqui in 1990. The film sawΒ Aditya Roy Kapoor paired with Shraddha Kapoor. But what made the movie a hit with the masses was the soulful songs sung by Arijit Singh. Fresh on the block, people went crazy about the title track “Tum Hi Ho“. It’s still a classic to this day and is sure to tug at your heart’s strings!

2. Beparwah – Shahid

Although Hansal Mehta’sΒ ‘Shahid’Β was not a commercial hit, it was a film that was highly applauded by critics. Although the movie was of a more serious tone, it opens with this beautiful number by Arijit. The song, which has a very bittersweet feel to it, will make you sit up and take notice of the non-commerciality in Bollywood!

3. Phir Le Aya Dil – Barfi

Part of why Barfi connected so well with audiences all over is not onlyΒ because of Ranbir Kapoor’s acting chops, but also the stellar song list this movie had. The songs were so soulful and nostalgic. Arijit Singh did a reprise version of the “Phir Le Aya Dil” track from the movie and needless to say, it is going to take you on a ride filled with goosebumps!

4. Kabira – Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani

Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani” hands down had one of those playlists in which every song had a charm of its own and none of them failed to induce some serious feels. This version of “Kabira“, compiled with vocals by Rekha Bhardwaj and Arijit Singh, is magical to a whole new level. The music, coupled with the amazing vocals by both singers, is for all the love birds out there!

5. Laal Ishq – Ram Leela

“Ram Leela” gave relationship goals to a lot of Β people when it hit theatres. The movie saw the power couple Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone come together for an epic love story. “Laal Ishq” comes at a time, when the lovers are facing a tough time and there’s no better voice to serenade a suffering love than Arijit. The slow tempo track sees Arijit take a slow pace and a more classical approach towards the song. Simply beautiful!Β

6. Kabhi Jo Badal Barse – Jackpot

Although the movie “Jackpot” wasn’t exactly a crowd favourite, it would be an understatement to say the songs didn’t make a mark on the people. By this point it had been proven that no matter the movie, if it had a song in it by Arijit Singh, it was going to be a surefire hit. That is exactly what happened with “Kabhi Jo Badal Barse“. The song went on to become one of the biggest sings from the singer!

Β 7. Raabta – Agent Vinod

Even before he took off with “Tum Hi Ho”, the singer made his mark with the very out-of-the-box song “Raabta” from the movie “Agent Vinod”. The song sees Arijit adopt a different style of singing with almost no gaps in between. The video in the movie sees a single take and the song just pairs beautifully with it. The song undoubtedly went on to become a huge hit that year!

Β 8. Yeh Fitoor Mera – Fitoor

“Fitoor” came out in 2016 and didn’t do quite well at the box office. It had sufficient eye candy though in the form of Aditya Roy Kapoor and Katrina Kaif. And again, the music composed by Amit Trivedi does wonders to the movie. “Yeh Fitoor Mera” released before the movie and managed to garner enough attention, all thanks to Arijit’s genius voice!

9. Agar Tum Saath Ho – Tamasha

2015 was probably Arijit Singh’s best year and saw him release and sing songs for some of the biggest blockbusters of the year. One of them was with Alka Yagnik for “Tamasha“. If you don’t tear up listening to the song, you should probably check if you have a heart. A mellow and melancholic track, the track hits too close to home!

10. Ae Dil Hai Mushkil – Ae Dil Hai Mushkil

Ae Dil Hai Mushkil has been the talk of the town since the trailer dropped and then to top it all of and make people go crazy, the title track dropped again with Arijit Singh behind the mike. The track became the talk of the town soon enough and we’re sure it’s going to be the song of the year again. After all, it has Arijit’s magic imbibed in it.
