The performance came as a surprise during the band’s set at the Pinkpop festival. People fucking loved it!

Everyone knows that the Red Hot Chili Peppers, besides making great music, really know how to put on show. They did exactly that during their headlining set at the Pinkpop festival in the Netherlands last weekend. Right after they finished one of their songs, the band smoothly transitioned into the Beatles’ ‘Hey Bulldog’ from their classic album ‘Yellow Submarine’. The clincher? Anthony Kiedis picking up the bass guitar and slapping the groovy tune as the crowd swayed along.

“That’s our new hit single,”Β said Flea jokingly. “It’s big in Albania right now,”Β added Kiedis.

TheΒ Red Hot Chili Peppers’Β latest album ‘The Getaway’, their first in 5 years will be releasing on June 17. According to Flea,Β “We’re near the end of it. Danger Mouse is producing this time, instead of Rick Rubin. Were heading into a new era and we’re really excited.”Β Radiohead’s Nigel Godrich was responsible for the mixing on the record.
