For tv show geeks, cult-film enthusiasts and comic book nerds, the world of Comic Con is a paradise and also a holy rite of passage. Β From fantasy fiction about dragons and ghouls to zombie apocalyptic situations, this year’s San Diego edition will reveal and feature some exciting first-looksΒ andΒ sneak-peaksΒ into what lies in the future.
1. Β The Hunger Games Mockingjay II : First look
The popular fantasy-fiction-turned-movie-franchise will air its final movie in theatres this December and Lionsgate will present an exclusive first look into the highly anticipated and powerful final film SDCC, this year. Comic Con-ees will be treated to an enlightening Q&A session with the cast and director, details on the finale and unseen footage from the earlier movies.
2. Sherlock : First look at the forthcoming special
Creator and writer of the show Steven Moffat, along with Rupert Graves (DI Greg Lestrade) and Sue Vertue (producer) will delve into the new adventures and mischiefs of Sherlock Holmes, before the show will return for a forthcoming special!
3. Doctor Who :Β Β BBC Americaβs Official PanelΒ
Just before the premier of the new season this fall, Doctor Who’s official panel at Comic Con will be a perfect opportunity for fans to get all theirΒ queries and questions answered. Plus, Peter Capaldi (the newest Doctor Who) will be there, Β following his record-breaking first season as the illustrious Doctor Who, whose epic journeys through space and time have inspired and delighted science fiction fantasy fans for generations.
5.Β Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice – Ben Affleck will be there
Playing the Dark Knight in the upcoming Batman v Superman movie, Ben Affleck will be joined on stage by Zack Snyder, Henry Cavill (Superman), Amy Adams (Lois Lane), Jesse Eisenberg (Lex Luthor), Jeremy Irons, Holly Hunter and Gal Gadot (Wonderwoman). The highly anticipated movie will be releasing in the summer of 2016 and is set to follow a storyline unlike any other Superhero movie we’ve seen.
6. AMCβs ‘Fear The Walking Dead’ : A reveal
AMC’s The Walking Dead is easily one of the most popular and populated Comic Con events every year, with hardcore fans coming face to face with their favourite characters from the show. This time around, the show will be showcasing its spin-off series “Fear the Walking Dead”. As of now we’ve only seen posters and snippets of the new show, so hopefully , Β we’ll get to see a juicy and full blown trailer of the anticipated show. Do lookout for easter eggs and plenty of reveals for season six of TheΒ Walking Dead.
7. Game of Thrones : Official Panel Discussion
Another big panel discussion that no one we know would be silly enough to miss. The full cast (sans Kit Harrington who plays Jon Snow) will be there and the panel will be hosted and moderated by megafan Seth Myers. One thing’s for sure, when it comes to Game Of Thrones, we know nothing. So don’t be surprised if some unexpected guests show up for the discussion. Maybe we’ll get more clarity about character storylines and the who-is-actually-dead questions we’ve been dying to ask.
8. Star Wars : A Force Awakens : Official Panel discussion & anticipated reveals
Everyone wants to know everything about the upcoming long-awaited sequel of the beloved franchise. Star Wars panels have been Comic Con regulars, but this year’s will be more than special. New characters, storylines, aliens and ships *may* be revealed. You’ll just have to wait to find out!
