The festival is adding some new flavour and it’s looking pretty good.
We have been anticipating Sunburn’s tenth anniversary edition for so long and finally it’s here! The monster-sized festival is taking place in the beautiful city of Pune and this year, they are really going all out to make a huge statement with the two internationally curated stages: The District808 Stage and The Monstercat Stage.
This is the first time the District808 stage will be specifically dedicated to bass, trap and alternate dance genres that have been recently introduced to the audience in India. It will feature artists like Momis Alanis, Sound Avtar, Teri Miko, Broz Rdz, Jai Wolf, LNY TNZ and more. This featured stage will culminate with a special closing show (not a regular feature at the support stages), that will present a special audio-visual show. And you can bet the production will be insane with Sunburn’s added SFX, lasers, CO2 blasts and everything else needed to alter reality.
The real sweet idea of the stage is that before a new act comes on, they will feature 10 minutes of a special District808 Show with choreographed special effects! They will also have a Gaming Arena at the artist village for people to compete at games on the PlayStation 4 which will be live streamed on TWITCH TV, the largest network of live game streaming in the world. Also, there will be complementary merch for the fans! Could we even ask for more?
Monstercat, an indie record label started by Mike Darlington and Ari Paunonen, will also bring along their batch of talent with Haywyre, Puppet, Pegboard Nerds as well as homegrown artists like NDS and Karmatek on the 31st of December at their Stage for the best end to it all. Plus, with over 5 million YouTube subscribers, you know their material has to be off the charts to get that impressive number of fans.
Happy Sun-burning folks!
