Storm 2014 is just 5 days away and the Sherp can barely contain his excitement. Β And while this edition of Storm promises to be bigger, better and in a completely different venue, here’s why YOU should take a little break from your city life and make a trip down to the brand new Stormfields!

Reason #1 – The Venue
Storm venue collage

Not to take away from last year’s venue at Coorg, but the guys at Liquidspace entertainment have really outdone themselves this time. Β The newΒ Stormfields is in a lush, verdant 200 acre slice of greenland,on the outskirts of Bangalore (a mere 30 Kms away from the centre of the city) and is an absolute beaut’. A perfect place to enjoy good music, good food and good friends in the company of nature.

Reason #2 – Camping

Music festivals are more about creating Β that feeling of community than about the line up and music. Β And what better way is there to add to that experience than camping at the venue for three whole days?
Being India’s most authentic Camp out festival, Storm 2014 will give it’s loyal campers everything they need and more – bonfires, cozy tents, a bigger camping area and a stage dedicated to Camp Out jams, specially for campers and Β music artists to make impromptu music together!

Reason #3 – More stages!

That’s right!Β Β This time’s Storm will feature 5 stages instead of the previous 4, with each dedicated to a category of music or performer. Some brilliant Indie and world music (and some interesting collaborations) will feature at the MTV Indie Stage. If you’re someone up for discovering new talent – make sure to park yourself at the Songwriter’s stage which will have performances by Solder, Tetseo Sisters, Nishchay Parekh, Ankur Tewari and the Voice of Storm Winners!

The Dance Music stage will give you just that. Lots of bass, lots of techno and lots of dancing. Β Think Eddie Haldwell, Nikhil Chinappa, Filterheadz and Ash Roy.
All you happy Campers will enjoy an extra stage – The Camp Jam Stage. Unplugged and around bonfires where artists and stormers will spend nights jamming together.Β Last but definitely not least, comes the Plug n and Play Stage – dedicated to artists from Voice of Storm, a good place to discover some budding new talent.

Reason #4 -Lasertag!
Laser Tag

There’s so MUCH more apart from the music to look forward too. This year, the good folk at Storm have added all these fantastic activities that you could be a part of, from Laser tag in the woods, to Zorbing, to Motor Rallys,Wall climbing, Rodeo Bull riding, Rope Courses and Zip lining through the lush fields – you name it.

Reason #5 – Bigger Collaborations
shankar madhevan & Shankar tucker (1)

Over the years this “musical escapade into nature” has always had some festival favorites come together for some surprising collaborations on stage! Last years saw Indian Ocean and Shankar Mahedevan, take stage. This year will be no different. Ready yourself for American Clarinetist Shankar Tucker and Shankar Mahedevan and their (as we’re expecting) synchronized magic.

Who knows, there might even some more…

Reason #6 – The Good ol’ Vibe

Lush venue + brilliant music+ clear night skies + Campfire jams + lots of good food + fun fun fun people = A legendary vibe and experience. Because (as proven at last year’s edition) that is what this festival is eventually about.Β If you’re potential first timer to Storm, heed this advice and book your tickets now.
