Serenade your mother this Sunday!
Mother’s Day is right around the corner, and we thought we’d help you guys out with the tiresome task of appeasing the one and only woman that truly matters in your life. Here’s a list of 10 songs with which to serenade your mother!
1.The Perfect Fan – The Backstreet Boys
The song debuted in 1999 and stole the hearts of mothers all around the world as the Backstreet Boys declare their love and appreciation for their mothers!
2. A Little More Time on You – ‘N Sync
The pop ballad titled “God Must Have Spent (A Little More Time On You)” could have been written about any woman in the boys’ lives, but they dedicated it to their moms.
3. Oh Mother – Christina Aguilera
A mother herself, Christina Aguilera thanks her mother for leaving her abusive father in this song from 2006.
4. Mama Liked The Roses – Elvis Presley
The heartfelt song was written and recorded in 1969 by Elvis Presley.
5. Mother – Pink Floyd
From the classic 1971 album “The Wall,” Pink Floyd asks, “Mother, do you think they’ll like this song?” We’ll let you decide.
6. Mama – The Spice Girls
This Spice Girls ballad was written in 1997 when Melanie “Scary Spice” Brown thought it would be a good idea to write a tribute for the groups’ mamas.
7. Let It Be – The Beatles
The iconic song from the studio album of the legendary band, titled Let It Be, was written by Paul McCartney about his mother whom he lost at the age of 14. Years after his mother’s death, Paul had a dream where his mother came to him and uttered the words “let it be”.
8. Angel – Jimi Hendrix
The award-winning album from 1971, The Cry of Love by Jimi Hendrix featured this beautiful song. This song too was inspired by a dream Hendrix had about his mother, Lucille, who died in 1958.
9. The Wish – Bruce Springsteen
On this track, Springsteen talks about the day his mother buys him his first guitar and relays the beautiful, vivid details of his childhood spent with his Mama.
10. Mama Said – Metallica
This song off of Metallica’s sixth album, Load, was written about a boy learning about life from his mother – believed to be based on Hetfield’s troubled relationship with his mother who died when he was 16.

Thank You, Mom – Good Charlotte
This song by punk-rocker twins Joel and Benji Madden of Good Charlotte was written in tribute to their mother, who was forced to raise them as a single mother after being abandoned by their father early on in their childhoods.
