This year’s Vh1 Supersonic boasts a spectacular line-up as well some really engaging activities to boot. But one thing that’s going to stand out this year, is the focus on stage design. Β

In December 2013, one company put their heads together to do the unimaginable; to devise and execute a large-scale electronic music festival – bringing together music lovers from every continent, across all walks of life – in just three short weeks. From creation to conception, Vh1Β Supersonic achieved what for many takes years of planning and production, in just 21 days. This year, they’ve come together with all guns blazing, with an unparalleled artiste line-up, larger than life art installation and their innovative stage designs. The Sherp decodes what each stage at the festival is going to be about:

1. Laboratoire SupersoniqueΒ

Making it’s second appearance this year, this stage is dedicated to bass.Β The stage is presented by fellow bass heads Engine Earz and Foreign Beggars and will feature a star studded roster consisting of the best of hard bass.

2. SpectrumΒ

Also in it’s second outing, the Spectrum is a stupendously designed platform which will act as a secondary main stage featuring the likes of the Chainsmokers, Dash Berlin, Alvaro and Mark Knight. Music-wise, this stage will provide a great blend of mainstream commercial, trance and deep/techno. Β Expect this stage to be heavily packed at all times.

3. Iron Heart Β

The daddy of them all, this year’s Iron Heart Stage is a serious work of art. Designed by Pixadoo’s VJ KayCee and Nikhil Chinapa, this stage will be one of the highlights of the festival this year. The intricate detailing done on this stage will surely make way for a spectacle as the likes of Β Paul Van Dyk, Gareth Emery, Dillon Francis, Above & Beyond and Infected Mushroom will be performing here. Extra care has been given to detailing in making the iron heart stage for the people who are standing there to find something new. Here’s a glimpse at the design:
