The brainchild of 22-year-old Joey Tran, this to-be-opened bar at Richmond district is making jaws drop!
You know how sometimes you think you can be a pilot, or possibly open a bookstore or, in this case, a tea bar named Gosu?Β Well, someone like us is on the way to actually putting his ideas and passion into action. He’s opening, not just any bubble tea bar called Gosu,Β but one where you would always want toΒ be at because of it’s rave-worthy EDM beats!
EDM loverΒ Joey Tran says Gosu will entertain customers with Asian-American Snacks and Dessert Fusion Specialities, a gaming and relaxation area for Super Mario Kart and Super Smash Brothers apart from the LEDs coordinating with the TVs playing EDM music everywhere. Gosu is a Korean term used to refer to a highly-skilled person, and this whole idea sure makes Joey sound like one. He plans on hosting DJs who are “trying to make it”, and it is expected to openΒ early January. It will be open from Sunday to Thursday from 12 p.m. to 12 a.m., and Friday and Saturday from 12 p.m. to 2 a.m.
In a notice on the front door of the site under construction in San Francisco, Joey Tran says he was inspired by the PLUR mantraΒ (peace, love, unity, respect, but you already knew that). βItβs not about drugs or anything like that,β he says in an interview with Eater. He added, βYou know how you go into a bar and see people fighting sometimes because theyβre drunk. But you donβt see that at a rave because we believe in the concept of PLUR. Thatβs why I incorporated that.β
