Friends, Romans…spoken word artists, lyricists, stand-up poets, this is a great opportunity for you!

Not long after their call for chefs, Glastonbury’s Poetry&Words division recently put out this statement on their website.

“CALLING ALL POETS, spoken word artists, wordsmiths, lyricists, raconteurs, stand-up poets and slam champs.2015 is flexing its lexicon in anticipation of a phenomenal year, and we at Poetry&Words are once again opening the floodgates to all you wonderfully talented poetry types.Β  SO, if you want to perform your work on Glastonbury Festival’s poetry stage, then this is your chance!Β  We’re looking for applications from experienced writers and performers, with something awesome to offer the audience of the world’s biggest greenfield arts festival.”

For all the Sarah Kay wannabes out there this is a brilliant chance to showcase your talent at the world’s biggest festival, kind of like the Madison Square Garden of platforms. If you’re tired of putting up your stuff on Instagram and Youtube, and getting very few responses, you should definitely apply for this opportunity.

If you are selected, you will get to perform at the festival and have your work published on the Glasto poetry page.

Head over to the website to figure out what kind of material you need to send in. Applications will close about two months from now (Friday 6, March 2015), giving you ample time to come up with your best material yet!
