The Powder Ridge Rock Festival in 1970 was cancelled due to legal trouble; the “resurrected” edition went off successfully this weekend in Connecticut, USA

It’s never too late to start — or restart, in this case — something. The incredible history behind the Powder Ridge Music Festival was reason enough for most people to attend it this past weekend (October 4 and 5). The debut edition of the fest was to be headlined byΒ Janis Joplin, The Allman Brothers, among others, and was expected to draw around 50,000 people.

However, the organisers did not succeed in securing a license from the local authorities and the event was called off at the eleventh hour.

The weekend gala, which was held 44 years after the planned first edition, was quite humble in scale. Around 650 visitors, including many families with young kids, were part of it. The line-up included local talents Barefoot Monks, The Kings Of Karma, Beach Avenue, Little Ugly and many others.
