The much anticipated Playboi Carti X Trippie Redd song Miss the rage finally released a few days ago. The initial leaks of the song started popping up on youtube and SoundCloud last December! Since then the fans had been going crazy over the prospect of a trippie redd and Carti collab.
Both Trippie and Carti are in the league of their own, both are massively successful artists, the collab just made sense.
The hype around Miss the rage
Miss the rage is a weird combination of melodic rap flows and hyper pop synths with distorted 808s. The bass is turned up to the point that it sounds distorted, which is an ongoing trend in the industry right now, especially with Carti and Trippie Redd.
The song saw a lot of hype before its release due to obvious reasons. Carti has just dropped Whole Lotta Redd and is still one of the hottest rappers in the game. The same can be said for Trippie.
Miss the rage worth the hype?
Though the fans were hyped up, the song wasn’t that great. The beat was pretty awesome no problem there. The structure of the beat was decent too. But the song lacked vocals, especially Trippie’s vocals.
The entire song I waited for Trippie to show us his magic but the song ended and I saw nothing. Same with Carti, he played safe, no switch in the flow or cadence. Just plain old rapping.
More was expected from this collab, but unfortunately, we got this half-hearted song. We hope these two artists keep working together to give us better music, and possibly a new album!
