A Tribe Called Quest is all set to release a new album and they’ve roped in Andre 3000, Kendrick Lamar and Jack White!
The new album by the group titled ‘We Got It From Here, Thank You for Your Service’ boasts of an incredible list of collaborators who will feature on the album. This is also going to be their first project after almost 20 years! According to the band, the album will have guest vocals from Jack White, Kendrick Lamar, Andre 3000, Busta Rhymes, Elton John and Consequence. If that line up doesn’t scream musical diversity, we don’t know what does!
Q-Tip said he and Jack White first connected when White invited him on-stage to perform “Excursions” during a 2015 Madison Square Garden concert. White came to the studio without his own gear, Q-Tip noted, “He just took a guitar off the wall and plugged it in and just got his wizard on.”
During the process of recording the album, the group members lost a brother of their own. Phife Dawg passed away when the band was in the midst of recording the album. Phife passed away in March 2016 due to complications from diabetes. Q-Tip continued working on the album following Phife Dawg’s death, putting the finishing touches on it until late October.
The new album by the group is definitely going to be the talk of the town once it’s out!
