Cruise festivals are a dime a dozen these days, offering up some fine music and travel experiences you should most definitely indulge in, at least once in a lifetime. From power-packed lineups to wild boats parties, here’s The Sherp’s definitive list of cruise festivals you should hop on to!

1. Shipsomnia

When: January 2 to 6
Where: Singapore to Phuket

This five day and four night festival cruise is happening from January 2 to 6 in 2016, and it sounds pretty brilliant. The journey from Singapore to Phuket and back will be a crazy party on a huge ship. The lineup will feature 30 DJs who are some of the best in the business, and the party cruise will have an immersive aquatic theme, with a bit of steampunk thrown in!

Shipsomnia will also stop at Phuket for a day-long, private beach party in the middle of the cruise. The tickets have already been snapped up for this cruise/festival experience, not unlike other party cruise festivals, which sell out in pre-sales.

2. Holy Ship

When: January 3 to 6 and February 10 to 13
Where: From Miami to the Bahamas

Holy Ship, is a electronic music catered cruise festival that takes place in two phasesΒ andΒ  edition includes a private island party ,yoga activities, signature on-board activities, theme nights, and workshops with intimate artist involvement. Where: Florida, United States to Belize City, Belize to Mexico

4.Β 70000 TONS OF METAL 2016

When: JanuaryΒ 4 to 8
Where:Β Florida, USA to Mexico

We’ve all heard of dance music cruise festivals, but have you heard of some that cater to metal fans?Β The aptly named 70000 TONS OF METAL festival is a floating metal extravaganza that includes 60 bands, 120 shows and only 3000 people on a 154,000 ton ship. Their beastly lineup this year includes : Β Cient Rites, At The Gates, Aura Noir, Belphegor, Carach Angren, Children of Bodom, Cradle of Filth, Dragonforce and so many more!

5. Parahoy!

When: March 5 to 9
Where: Miami to Mexico

The Grammy award winning group Paramore will be bringing back PARAHOY!, aΒ 4-day cruise music festival.Β This year, another cruise ship music festivalΒ called PARAHOY! will be setting sail for the second time from Miami – Mexico andΒ back. Set to be a sort of a celebration for their recent Grammy success, the 4-day festival will includeΒ includeΒ DJ sets, theme nights, sets by stand-up comedians and much more. This year’s Paramore cruise has loads of surprises in store for you and special guests like CHVRCHES and a rumoured Twenty One Pilots!

6. ShipRocked

When: January 18 to 22
Where: Miami to Costa Maya, Mexico

You’d be surprised by the number of rock-centric cruise festivals there are, with ShipRocked being one of the best. The festival is known for it’s out-of-control wild and debauched parties, accompanied by the best alt-rock music there is. This year, Five Finger Death Punch, Seether, Halestorm, 10 Years, The Dead Deads and so many more bands will be hopping aboard to give you the most rocking music cruise. Not just that, you can keep aplenty busy with activities like Hard Rock Karaoke, Rock n Roll Bingo and of course a tattoo parlour to help commemorate your onboard experiences.

7.Β Walker Stalker Cruise

When: January 15 to 18
Where: Miami to Grand Bahama Island

The Walker Stalker cruise calls out all Walking Dead enthusiasts to come aboard a Norwegian pearl accompanied by actors of the show – Norman Reedus and Emily Kinney for 4 days of zombie-fied fun.
