Summer Session 2015 says no to shirtlessness in hopes of eradicating douchebaggery.

Summer Session Festival, Darwin, Australia just dropped their new ‘no shirt removal’ policy to reduce douchebag behavior at the festival.

“The event organizer Guy Dunne is massive on not making a music festival about meat heads, and about throwing out anyone without a shirt. There were signs everywhere saying ‘no shirt no entry’ and it really changed it and made it more about the music… A lot of these gym-goers and that sort of thing love showing off their big muscles and that’s great but just do it from under a singlet,” said one of the festival’s organizers.

While this can be considered a suppression of freedom of expression, with the forbidding of kandi bands/other typical rave attire and the controversy around cultural appropriation at festivals these days, this is something that’s not very surprising and might actually achieve the goal the festival is going for.
