For anyone who isn’t living under a cave would know that Red Hot Chili Peppers is back, and HOW!

The band formed in 1983 has always preached their love for California as well as the beach-bum lifestyle. But, being the legacy that they are and with the launch of their recent album, The Getaway after a hiatus of 4 years, fans were in for a classic RHCP- energy fuelled set! The last time they headlined the festival was back in 2006. So, needless to say fans were pumped about the performance.

Opening their set with “Can’t Stop” and following it with classics like “Snow(Hey Oh)” and “Scar Tissue” clearly got the crowd hyped for the rest of the awesomeness that was about to follow. Given the recent health scare front-man Anthony Kleidis had and the snowboarding accident Flea went through, they put up an energy filled romp which showed no signs of slowing down.

The band decided to give other famous tracks of theirs like “Californication” and “Dani California” a miss, much to the disappointment of the people who were looking forward to those.

There were mixed reviews of the performance from fans who wanted to listen to more classics rather than the new songs from their album. But they closed of the set in spectacular style with “By The Way” and “Give It Away“. In the end, it was an age-defying act by the California band who have re-emerged from the ashes with no intentions of slowing down.

Long live RHCP!
