For loyal and hardcore fans, new music from their favorite artists is the best thing in the world, but this also brings up many ethical questions. Pop Smoke is no more, is it okay for the music label to leech off his unfinished songs? At least the last posthumous album of his, he had a role in shaping the project, he had his vision ingrained into it before he was killed.
But this new project will have nothing, the album will most probably have a lot of unfinished songs along with many random freestyle verses which the producers will turn into a song. The iconic Pop Smoke voice sells, and the music label knows this and hence will drop the project regardless.
The album is titled Pop Smoke, which is a self-titled album. Now, pop is already a global superstar, there’s no need to have a self-titled album. Young and upcoming artists put out self-titled projects so that the masses recognize them. The label probably didn’t find an appropriate title and hence made it a self-titled project.
