The ‘Raver Barbie’ is going to perform in Australia as part of her Gold Rush DJ tour.
Paris Hilton has been no stranger to controversy, drawing the ire of artists like Deadmau5 and Paul Oakenfold for perceived opportunism and contentious comments made about her place in the dance hierarchy. But all said and done, she’s still raking in the moolah and will be touring Oz to play for her fans.
The first show of her Aussie Gold Rush DJ tour will go down at Fluffy nightclub in Brisbane, with remaining dates set to be announced in the near future. She will also promote her latest signature perfume of the same name while on tour. Typical.
Hilton’s DJ career began in Ibiza back in 2012. During her debut outing, the singer was reported to be mainly dancing, rather than actually DJing or mixing any of the tracks. Currently, she holds a residency at White Isle super club ‘Amnesia’. Since then, she’s had a single produced by Afrojack, and beat Magda, Maya Jane Coles and Nina Kraviz to claim the victory in the Female DJ of the Year award. She has even appeared on the cover of DJ Mag! Ya, we’re also wondering what this world has come to.
The 35-year-old is no longer known as a reality star or heiress. In fact, she makes her money with her fragrances, Paris Hilton stores, and DJ gigs. Speaking of her DJ gigs, a few months ago, Hilton performed a set at a private party in the Serbian capital Belgrade, where she was joined on stage by folk singer Svetlana Raznjatovic & was paid more than £260,000 to perform.
This may sound shocking, but Hilton gets paid up to $1 million for a single DJ set, according to Fact Mag. She makes more money than DeadMau5 and Tiesto, combined. Sigh.
Here is the poster for her Australian gig, if you don’t believe us.
