1. Parov Stelar

Marcus Füreder (born November 27, 1974 in Linz, Austria) better known by his stage name Parov Stelar, is an Austrian musician, composer, producer and DJ. His musical style is based on a combination of jazz, house, electro and pop. He is known as one of the pioneers of electro swing. Not many are accustomed with the musical genius of Parov Stelar, but if you know Lana Del Rey, Bryan Ferry, Marvin Gaye and Lady Gaga, you must know that Parov Stelar has collaborated with them to deliver some absolute bangers! In 2007 BBC named Parov Stelar one of the most promising performers active in Europe after his album “Shine” came out.

Parov Stelar has in total released six albums, more than twenty EPs and sold more than 500,000 albums independently, and has won many accolades and fame for his work such as 7 Amadeus Austrian Music Awards: Electronic/Dance (2012, 2013, 2015 und 2016), Album of the year for The Princess (2013), Best Live Act (2013 und 2014).

2. Crystal Fighters

To cite Mixmag, “the single most exciting act in dance music!” – Well, that’s Crystal Fighters for you! Formed in 2007, in London, and in Spain, the band is broadly classified as an English-Spanish electronic/folk band, but rarely confine to a binding genre. The band consists of Sebastian Pringle (lead vocals, guitar), Gilbert Vierich (electronics, guitars, txalaparta, percussion), Graham Dickson (guitar/txalaparta), Laure Stockley (vocals) and Mimi Borelli (vocals).

Quite interestingly, the band got its name, “Crystal Fighters“, from an unfinished opera that was written by Laure Stockley’s grandfather which she found after his death.

The sound of Crystal Fighters is fast, rhythmic, and mesmerizing, so you need to bring your best dancing shoes to SulaFest. So far, Crystal Fighters has released 3 albums“Star of Love”, “Cave Rave”, and “Everything Is My Family”. Some of their popular numbers include: Love Natural, Follow, I Love London, Xtatic Truth.

3. Amit Trivedi

A name synonymous with the word ‘music’ in India, Amit Trivedi is as talented as they come in the Bollywood music industry. He started his stint in composing music for Bollywood with the film, “Aamir” in 2008, but it wasn’t until Dev.D that he shot to fame and began being regarded as a master in the industry. Amit Trivedi has composed music for films such as Dev.D, Wake Up Sid, Udaan, Ishaqzaade, Udta Punjab, Dear Zindagi, and more.

Bauchklang literally translates to “belly-sound”. Any guesses how that relates? If you see this phenomenal act perform, it all becomes clear as this 5-piece vocal-groove collective from Austria are masters at channeling the rhythm of their bellies and the witted jab of their mouths to deliver absolutely stunning sets.

The band consists of Andreas Fraenzl, Gerald Huber , Christian Birawsky a.k.a. Bina, Alex Böck, and Philipp Sageder. The band first ventured in Asia in 2009 for the release of their first live album/DVD “Live In Mumbai“, when they also did a 5 city club tour across India.

Ranging sounds from electronica to dubstep makes his set one of the most mesmerizing live acts in the country.

6. Gypsy Hill

Gypsy Hill is unlike any act you’ve ever seen, and we mean it! The band dabbles in Balkan brass and Mediterranean surf rock to establish an elevating and energetic performance. The sound of Gypsy Hill is perpetrated by the fusion of guitars, horns, tuba, a scratch DJ and a mix of live and electronic beats, that make their act truly interesting to watch.

The band has toured much of the world and won hearts at many music festivals such as Glastonbury, Bestival, WOMAD, Sziget, Fusion, Winterthurer Musikfestwochen, and more.

7. Brodha V

Lauded as one of the best hip hop/rap artists in India, Brodha V is a performer you need to pay close attention and listen to. Known for his lyrical complexity, and bang on rhythms, his journey began when he began taking part in online rap battles on Orkut.

The desi hip-hop artist is sure to get you groovin’ to his rhythm and you might recognise few of the numbers from movies that you’ve loved such as – Chennai Express and Mujhse Fraaaandship Karoge, among other Tamil regional films.

8. The Beat ft. Ranking Roger

The Beat, formed in 1978, in Birmingham, England is the sensational combination of the sounds of ska, pop, soul, reggae and punk rock. The band was formed during a very testing time and a period of high unemployment. The band has since then risen through decades to charter new territories and blow minds through the generations with their fusion sound.

The band consists of Dave Wakeling, Ranking Roger, Andy Cox, David Steele, Everett Morton, and Saxa a.k.a. Lionel Augustus Martin. Ranking Roger added a Jamaican flair to the already booming sound of the band when he joined the band in 1973.
