The man claims he was robbed, beaten and stripped off his clothes.
Strange, worrying and borderline amusing is how I would describe the news of a naked man found wandering the woods around the Chattahoochee festival site on October 2, four days after the festival ended.
The person responsible for finding him was a hunter named Casey Sanders (who also owns the land around the festival), who, while on a hunt, heard someone yelling for help. He followed the voice and soon spotted a man stark naked holding what seemed like a walking stick. Casey immediately took out his camera phone, which may I add was a bit strange. He then filmed the encounter, while he shouted questions to this man about who he is, where he was from and why he was naked. The man stated that all he remembers was being at the TomorrowWorld Music Festival, when he was attacked, robbed and dumped into the woods. Casey didn’t immediately go to his help, obviously a bit wary of what was going on. However he did help the man later on, by getting him in touch with someone who could come and get him.
Casey did add this description below the video :
“I looked down to find a man standing in the creek holding a walking stick with not a stitch of clothing on him. Claimed he had been beaten up by some guys at Tommorwworld then dropped in the woods after they stripped him of everything. He spent days trying to find water and then he stuck to the creek once he found it. He recalled his number and I got in touch with somebody to come get him after I led him to the road. By far the craziest hunting story I will ever have!”
He also explained his hesitation and confrontational behaviour towards the man, saying
“I know I was confrontational at first, but what you don’t see is the hour after that of me getting him to safety. I mean I did save his life and I didn’t call the cops. Sorry I wasn’t so trusting to random stranger naked in the creek out in the middle of the woods who couldn’t differ a dream from reality. I didn’t exactly have a script in my head of this is what I will do when I find a naked man in a creek.”
We’re glad the man is safe and back to normalcy. But what really begs to be discussed here is the level of depravity people have to stoop to to mug a man and leave him in the middle of nowhere. It really goes to show that even at the world’s biggest EDM festival that is supposed to be a happy and positive place, troubling mugging and drug related stories much like this always seem to creep up.
