Descending upon the heart of downtown Los Angeles, Minimal Effort Halloween will be the city’s first multi-stage holiday festival in years.

In the past three years, Los Angeles-based promotion, Minimal Effort, has carried the mantle for exposing the darker and deeper sounds of electronic music and has given the underground sound a platform in which to shine. While graduating from rough warehouses in downtown LA to the acclaimed clubs of the city, 2016 marks the first year that Minimal Effort will host a true indoor/outdoor Halloween Festival.

Headlining this year’s massive celebration will be BBC’s own Pete Tong, Jonas Rathsman, Suara Records boss Coyu, Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs, Tensnake, and Spain’s Edu Imbernon. Turbo Records chief and Bugatti-raving Tiga will also debut his live show for the first time in California, rounding out only the first phase of announced performers.

With Halloween fast approaching, here are five Minimal Effort artists that embody the spirit of dressing up:

1. STEVE BUG

Yet another highly talented German, Steve has been an ambassador for electronic music for over two decades. Beginning his career within the trance and acid scenes, Mr. Bug honed his craft in the booth and also started to create his own sound. This was a sound that culminated in moving to Berlin and building label Poker Flat, which would serve as a platform for his minimal house style.

2. Thugfucker

Always count on the duo of Greg Orek and Holmar Filipsson to bring a smile to your face when they’re playing. Having met while travelling to the world’s largest glacier; their common love for electronic music is matched with their inherent nature to explore theΒ spectrum of electronic music. Greg’s part in founding the seminal Life and Death Label helped expose the duo to a plethora of cutting-edge music. As a mainstay of Burning Man, Thugfucker isΒ no stranger to self-expression and good party.

3. Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs

Orlando Tobias Edward Higginbottom, is a classically trained musician and has attended the prestigious Royal Academy of Music in London. From the start of the T.E.E.D project, Orlando looked to buck the trend of pretentious dance music with the freedom to experiment unwarily. Since his debut album Trouble, T.E.E.D continues to push the boundaries of how dance music is presented with an intricate live show that includes elaborate costumes, dancers, and visual effects.

4. Tiga

Turbo Records boss, Tiga, never takes anything too seriously. This can be seen in, both, his tongue-in-cheek productions and diverse DJ sets. Bringing his new live show for the time to Los Angeles, Tiga is set to redefine how a dj/producer can present their music to the world. With a show that will include live instrumentation and vocals, Tiga will surely bring the holiday spectacle this Halloween.

5. Coyu

Self-proclaimed lover of all things cat, one look at Coyu’s Facebook will tell you that the founder of Suara Records’ love for cats is a borderline obsession. In addition to his feline fascination, Coyu is leading one of the world’s biggestΒ labels for techno and house music and his globetrotting schedule allows him the opportunity to share both his kitten love andΒ his impeccable taste in music. Catalonian-bred Coyu discovered his passion for music early on and with releases on Cocoon, Get Physical, and his own Suara, he has established himself as one of the world’s leading producers.

The Halloween extravaganza will all go down on October 29th and will take place at LA Center Studios in the heart of downtown LA sporting both indoor and outdoor stages. With a capacity of 5,000 attendants, Minimal Effort is taking long strides in truly propelling the underground to the forefront of LA’s electronic music scene. And with more artists yet to be announced, this year’s Minimal Effort Halloween is an experiment not to be missed.

Tickets to the Minimal Effort Halloween have been on sale since July 19thΒ on their official website.
