Lorde has lit up our world, all green!

We have a new song by Lorde, for the first time, in two long years! Lorde had been teasing fans with news of her latest song for a while and now the song is finally here! Titled, “Green Light”, the video for the track, which is directed by Grant Singer, has a lot of “greenery”, so to speak.

During an interview with Beats 1, Lorde admitted that the song is aboutΒ “my first major heartbreak.”Β She further explained,”It’s not something that I really am used to writing about,” she said. β€œIt took me a while to be able to figure out how to write about that.”

Driving her fans crazy, Lorde had been teasing themΒ with green-hued images, while thanking them for coming to her show in Auckland.

After confirming the title and release date of theΒ new single, the New Zealand singer-songwriter took to Twitter to express her excitement over the song too! We can expect more from this album as Lorde has hinted,“it’s the first chapter of a story i’m gonna tell you, the story of the last 2 wild, fluorescent years of my life. this is where we begin.”

Lorde, recently turned 20 in November 2016 and has been vocal about her journey so far. Her new album reflects just that and more! She tweeted,“i am so proud of this song. it’s very different, and kinda unexpected. it’s complex and funny and sad and joyous and it’ll make you DANCE.”

Well, it surely has been making us dance. We are looking forward to Coachella, where it is rumoured that even newer music from the singer will be showcased!
