In what might be an unlikely pairing, Maroon 5 and Kendrick Lamar have joined hands and come out with a new track!
Maroon 5, the ever popular band known for their hits like ‘Sugar’, ‘Animals’ and ‘This Love’ among tons of other chart topping monsters joined forces with the current reigning king in the world of hip-hop; Kendrick Lamar and dropped their new song ‘Don’t Wanna Know’. The new track is produced by Benny Blanco and was serviced immediately to all streaming devices once it dropped. Kendrick Lamar lends his vocals to one crisp verse in the song.
The song emulates a very tropical/chill vibe. It sounds like the recent Chainsmokers and Kygo songs mashed up into a single song. A lot of fans have expressed their displeasure about the fact that Maroon 5 isn’t the same anymore, but then again, that is up for debate.
The official video for the song isn’t far away. The video sees Adam Levine team up with David Dobkin, the director who shot the music video for ‘Sugar’, which was probably the band’s most famous and most-watched video till date. The video is expected to drop on the 14th October! Interscope’s reps claim the new song “showcases another evolution for both artists” and ‘Don’t Wanna Know’ does indeed represent the first collaboration proper between Maroon 5 and Lamar!
We can’t help but be excited by the names associated with this song. Give it a listen and see what you think!
