Lamar fans, you can’t tell them nothing!

Following the Insta frenzy the Grammy winning rapper sent his fans into after his ambiguous post on the social media app, Kendrick Lamar has released a new song called “The Heart Part 4”.  The single forms a part of an ongoing series spanning his discography. Listen to the song on iTunes via Apple Music here!

Kendrick Lamar took to Instagram yesterday, erasing his feed clean, to post an image of Roman Numerals “IV” without any caption. Fans around the world have taken this as a ringing-in announcement for his fourth studio album which would be a follow up to 2015’s, To Pimp a Butterfly.

The Grammy winning rapper isn’t a keen social media user, thus when the artist started passing “hints” via random updates, it piqued the interest of his followers. After the release of untitled unmastered, last year, which Lamar put forward as a ‘compilation’ or  ‘project’ instead of an album, the star had hinted at his next “very urgent” project, in recent interviews.

See excited reactions to the “hints”  below:

In an interview earlier this month, the Compton rapper had said,“My focus is ultimately going back to my community and the other communities around the world where they’re doing the groundwork. To Pimp a Butterfly was addressing the problem. I’m in a space now where I’m not addressing the problem anymore.” At the end of the new song, Kendrick raps, “Y’all got ’til April 7 to get y’all shit together,” potentially teasing a new release. Joining the ranks of RTJ, the Gorillaz, Snoop Dogg amongst other artists who’ve been vocal in their dissent for the current POTUS through their music, he raps at another point, “Donald Trump is a chump, know how we feel punk/Tell em that God comin’, and Russia need a replay button, yall up to something.”

The “Alright” hitmaker is also headlining Coachella, this year, which means he could be kicking off a summer tour to promote said “next project”. It’s a bit of a stretch – but we’ll take it!
