What happens when a food festival that is known for itsย buffalo mac and cheese and s’mores cupcakes decides to go healthy? You get a kale eating competition called Kale Yeah!ย
The Taste of Buffalo festival is known for its meat products but organisers are trying to approach a healthier approach this year around. The festival is also very popular for its hot dog eating contest, but this year they seem to be trying out greener pastures. Contestants will have eight minutes to consume as much of the green stuff as possible and the winner will take home a neat $2,000 and a Kale Cup.
The Kale Yeah! contest is meant to highlight the healthier fare served alongside the chicken wings and ice cream at Buffalo’s annual food festival. The Independent Health Foundation’s Healthy Options program requires each vendor to offer a health-conscious menu item.
