With members from all around the world, Skyharbor have come a long way from starting off as a studio project. After releasing their first album ‘Blinding White Noise’ in 2012, the band has been performing regularly around the world and making waves with their distinctive brand of sweeping, ethereal prog-rock music. The Sherp got a chance to catch up with the band before their gig, and here’s what they had to say: The Sherp: Hey guys. Fresh off supporting Deftones on the European leg of their Gore album launch tour, are you all set to perform back in India with Red Bull Tour Bus Off The Roof? Skyharbor: Yes! It should be fun, we are looking forward to it. The Sherp: Red Bull Tour Bus is a gig platform unlike any other. How does it feel to be a part of this family now? Skyharbor: Very cool! We’ve spoken about doing this for many years now, but it’s good to finally be able to make it happen. The Sherp: What can your fans, who will be attending the gig, look forward to on October 14th? Skyharbor: Hopefully a good time with some good music! The fans are who they are, and metal as a genre has always been underground, which is why it will always be there and persist with a loyal fan base, regardless of what is currently trending. The Sherp: Do you see India hosting a festival in the future that will be dedicated to metal alone? How would something like that transform metal in India? Skyharbor: It might happen and it would be cool for sure, but I feel the best way to get people into metal would be to mix up a festival line-up nicely, with other genres of hard and more aggressive rock represented well too. The Sherp: If you could travel around India and perform on top of a bus, which city would you hit first and why? Skyharbor: Bangalore!
