Here’s a good reason why sniffer dogs at festivals may not be the best solution
In a quite a sordid turn of events at Australia’s biggest music festival, Stereosonic, many people were stripped down and searched for drugs by officers, claims a report by Daily Mail Australia.
Out of 81,000 revellers, 830 people were strip searched, one of which was an innocent man named Danny. Sniffer dogs singled him out of the crowd after which the officers proceeded to effectively violate and embarrass a man with no drugs on him.
This news brings to light the thousands of innocent festival-going Australians who are made to go through harrowing and violating strip searches at festivals.
Most festivals employ sniffer dogs to do their bidding, when in reality on 36 per cent of sniffer dog detections are accurate.
