Whitby Goth Weekend was pretty amazing this time around, and the pictures might just give you goosebumps.Β
In what is easily the biggest event on Whitby’s calendar, thousands flocked to the town in North Yorkshire, England, where they celebrated everything goth. This year, the bi-annual event saw suitably grim weather, which pretty much set the perfect mood for what was to follow.
What began as a small and understated event in the backroom of the Elsinore pub in 1994 has grown into an elaborate festival for goths. It attracts bands from the gothic and alternative genres, who come together to create an amazing lineup. But the primary focus of the festival has shifted to theatrical expression and gothic costumes and fashion.Β Each year, outfits of attendees become more extravagant with themes ranging from Victorian to steam punk, film adaptations and a tantalising twist on the traditional fairy tale.
This time, the gothic Halloween celebration was bigger, better and darker than ever before!
