Well, this was unexpected

According to their website UK’s biggest and most iconic dance music festival’s namely Global Gathering UK, will be taking a break next year.

Held on the last weekend of July every year, GlobalGathering UK has established itself as a major UK dance festival since it began in 2001 and has been held atΒ Long Marston AirfieldΒ nearΒ Stratford-upon-Avon (a place famous for cultivating William Shakespeare).Β In terms of Β entertainment the fest has provided a range of electronic genres, and includes live acts,Β drum and bass,Β house,Β tranceΒ andΒ dubstep. The festival has grown to play host to over one hundred acts on sixteen stages, and has twice won the award for Best UK Festival in theΒ DJ MagazineΒ awards, including 2010.

This news comes comes unexpected, especially from a festival that has enjoyed massive success since it’s inception 13 years ago.

Confirming this cancellation, organisers have expressed reasons for this move citing the reviewing of all the “elements of the show to ensure that GG remains at the heart of the UK dance market.”

However, the statement specifies that this break will not affect other GG affiliated international festivals, club and arena gigs.

Depressing as it may seem, lets look at it from a positive note. At GG UK you can always expect quality and quantity to be given equal importance and this cancellation is fairly reflective of the organisers hard work and determination. There is no harm in taking a break and reviewing every element of an event in order to make it more of an awesome experience for its audience and that is exactly what the folks at Global Gathering are aiming to do.

Rest assured, Global Gathering UK 2016 will be iconic as ever.
