Nithin Sunder July 28, 2017 FS Features, Listicles The Sziget Festival is undoubtedly one of the largest music and cultural festivals in Europe. It is held every August in northern Budapest, Hungary, on Óbudai-Sziget island on the Danube. Only a few have the privilege to call themselves ‘The Best In Europe’ and the Sziget is one of them. In 2011, it was ranked one of the 5 best festivals in Europe by The Independent. The festival is also a two-time winner at the European Festivals Awards in the category Best Major European Festival in early 2012 and 2015. The 2015 edition took place between the 10th and 17th of August. The week long festival saw people from all over Europe come to attend it. Over 441,000 people attended the festival all days combined, to witness amazing sets by Florence & The Machine, Kasabian, Alt-J, Foals, Limp Bizkit, Ellie Goulding and much more. Here are a couple of memorable performances at the event. 1. Passenger’s Let Her Go Performance. We’re pretty sure this song is much better when you hear and watch Michael Rosenberg live. He went on to tweet “Completely and Utterly Amazing. The Most Phenomenal Crowd.” 2. Diplo In A Giant Hamster Ball. The American record producer took off with a Hamster Ball during Major Laser’s set at the Festival. Now that must have been fun. 3.The Script finishing off their set with Hall of Fame. The Irish rock band had only good vibes to spread before they left the stage. 4. Bohemian Rhapsody followed by Angels! Robbie Williams singing a Queen hit. Enough said. 5. Headliners Kings of Leon! One of the headliners of the festival for 2015. Easily, one of the best performances of the night.
