Much to everyone’s collective disappointment, Deadmau5 recently announced (on his tumblr blog) that he will no longer be actively tweeting (and ranting) from his Twitter account.
The message was delivered in typical deadmau5 fashion, where he very bluntly explained his reasons for leaving the twitter-verse -which are his own and no one else’s. Β As expected he snuck in a few (hilarious) digs at some of his more outspoken “critics”.
The message also very earnestly thanked his fans for their continued support and understanding and explained that his, “team” will be managing his account from now on.
Here’s his full message :
“Iβm no longer going to be managing my own twitter account for βdeadmau5β. Iβm going to let management deal with that account. My reasons are my own, not because of something I said, not because of this hilarious I.R.A. vs. βiraβ craic, not because of lady gagaβs infinite legions of brain dead fans. but as I saidβ¦ reasons of my own.
Perhaps ill return to that in world as some reincarnation of sort, but for now, thatβs off the table for me. Iβll continue to upload new music to my soundcloud, and the twitter account will point you in the right direction for the most recent happeningsβ¦ but enoughβs enough with living on twitter. Time to at least start by living in the studio making music without having to be force-fed stupid shit that annoys me, when all Iβm trying to do is connect with fans.
As for the fans, thanks for all your continued support and understanding of my decision to personally unplug myself from the very thing thatβs making me upset. AsΒ I’veΒ mentioned, the account will remain alive, and *my team*Β (yeah I went there) will keep you just as updated on the ongoings with new music and shit that actually matters.
To leave you with some good news, my new Tricaster arrives today. SO perhaps ill be streaming video with direct audio a lot more often.

Of course we’ll miss the mau5head’s infamous rants and jokes on twitter but that doesn’t mean we don’t have countless coffee runs and SoundCloud releases to look forward to!
He made this announcement while simultaneously releasing his 7 track playlist termed ‘7’ with each track named after a particular ‘deadly sin’. Surprisingly, it’s a series of Β slow paced Piano based melodies that scream ‘eerie yet beautiful’.
The Mau5 never ceases to amaze.
