On June 3rd, 2014, everything went downhill for Bobby Shmurda, arguably one of the hottest artists. Bobby Shmurda was arrested and charged with felony criminal possession of a weapon. The cops had seen him holding a gun in his house and later tried to hide it in his sofa. Since then, he had been locked in for 6 years!

Now Bobby Shmurda is free and seems keen on getting back into the music world. He even recently performed at a Rolling Loud Festival this year. He has new music coming out really soon and a couple of big collaborations, one of which will be with Migos.

Bobby Smurda debuted 3-4 new songs during his set at Rolling Loud, and fans were going crazy. But has the time in jail changed Bobby? It surely has; in a recent interview with Desus and Mero, he talked about getting out of jail and how it has made him smarter.

He says he’s happy to be back with his family, but he still can’t believe he’s back home for real; prison changes people, he said. Bobby Shmurda was arrested at the peak of his career; if he’d stayed away from illegal activities, he might’ve been one of the biggest artists that year and possibly for many years to come as well. But now the hype has died out, and establishing a solid fan base in the rap community will be harder for Shmurda!
