Martin Hoogstraten talks about the future of the Bingo Players in an incredibly moving statement.
Last month witnessed the tragic passing away of one half of the DJ duo, the late Paul Baumer, as he lost his long lasting battle with cancer. The dance music industry was deeply saddened by his unfortunate passing away but after a quiet, reflective period,Β MaartenΒ has released a statement revealing the future ofΒ Bingo Players.
He released an official statement via the Bingo Playersβ official website & Facebook page. He announced that all of the duoβs pending projects will indeed be released very soon and that their βjourney has only just begunβ. He thanked all their fans for providing such outstanding support during the difficult past month, and answered to their queries regarding donating to a charity in Paulβs name.
This is great news for the dance music industry, as weβre quite familiar with how brilliant & successful they were as a DJ/producer duo. And with Paulβs legacy living on in the form of the music he leaves behind, weβre sure Maarten & The Bingo Players are going to scale heights like never before.
Much respect Maarten. The Sherp can’t wait to hear your new music.
Hereβs the official statement made by him :
β Dear All,
Firstly, I want to thank each and every one of you for the massive amount of support and kindness shown in the past month. I was overwhelmed with the heartfelt messages and the stories shared by peopleβ¦ thank you, it means a huge amount to me and Paulβs family and friends.
Many people have asked if they can donate to a charity in Paulβs name. He had asked for those that wanted to please be directed to KWF (The Dutch Cancer Society) βwww.kwf.nl
So, understandably there are lots of questions you all may have about whatβs going to happen next. Well, the first thing I want everyone to know is that Iβm still continuing Bingo Players. Weβve come too far to stop now and Paulβs spirit will always be a part of anything I do as Bingo Players.
Before he passed, Paul and I spoke and he made it clear he wanted me to continue Bingo Players. He and I have worked so hard to get to where we are, and it feels as though our journey had only really just begun. Thereβs so much more ahead for Bingo Players.
I want to continue because I love what I do and I want to do it for both of us. There is a lot of music that we worked on together before Paul passed away that will be coming out in the next months and years, more on that soon!
Bingo Players will always be plural.
