You can’t go wrong with acts like Radiohead, LCD Soundsystem, Tame Impala, Animal Collective orΒ Explosions In The Sky on your lineup!

Primavera Sound is known for having some of the best musical lineups and the 2016 edition proves why. Not only did they haveΒ acts such as Radiohead and Tame Impala gracing their famed stages but it was also one of the highest attended editions of the festival. Here is a look at some of the standoutΒ moments from Primavera 2016 :

1. Radiohead playing Creep.

It seems 2016 is the year when people diligentlyΒ lose their shit over Radiohead. So obviously when they closed their insane Primavera Sound set withΒ ‘Creep’, everyone was ecstatic. Though this was hardly their best rendition, the performance was pretty powerful in itself. The band played other classics such as ‘Lotus Flower’, ‘National Anthem’ and of course ‘No Surprise’. The set contained a lot of stuff from their new album and they opened with a superb rendition of ‘Burn the Witch’ that later progressedΒ into songs like ‘Daydreaming’ and ‘Pyramid Song’.

2. Last Shadow Puppets give one of their best performances.

Alex Turner was his usual electric self, setting the stage, and many a hearts simultaneously, on fire. Some people skipped them as they were performing right after Radiohead and to live up to the performanceΒ of Thom Yorke and Co., is just too much too expect. Nevertheless,Β they managed to thrill and surprise as they opened with ‘Miracle Aligner’ andΒ then continued to play hits such as ‘Only The Truth’, ‘My Mistakes Were Made For You’ and ending it on a insanely charged note with ‘Meeting Place’.

3. Brian Wilson performing Monster Mash.

Brian Wilson has been doling out serious amounts of nostalgia on his recent tour performing Pet Sounds, one of the best albums by the Beach Boys. His Primavera performance was probably the most memorable one out of them all. Β β€œMy band members, they’re so good!” Wilson exclaimed at one point and boy was he right! The crack crew of players brought every little detail of Wilson’s meticulous masterpiece to life, lending a gentle, masterful touch that helped the audience tap into the Beach Boy’s stack of classics like never before. They also covered cult classic ‘Monster Mash’ and needless to say, the crowd went positively crazy.

4. Sigur Ros justifyΒ why we love them.

The Icelandic rockers have been touring withΒ only the three remaining core members and a promise of “new unreleased songs, a new show and maybe some other new stuff”. Their Primavera Sound performance was a classic example of why they are one of the very few bands who can actually get people excited even when they put out such arbitrary statements. Their set was a breathtaking sensory overload that looked, sounded, and felt like heaven.

5. Tame Impala showing us how it’s done.

Tame Impala is the kind of band you’re going to remember seeing live. They give the kind of performance you will be telling your kids and grandkids about. Too much? Not really. They may also be the ideal group for the modern festival environment, with a brightly psychedelic sound, straddling the worlds of rock and pop and equally fit for dancing or zoning out. The band played a lot of music from their latest album ‘Currents’ which is probably their best work up until now.
