Yes, you heard that right! The Mumbai-based band Bombay Bassment will be heading to the famous British festival Glastonbury this year, as announced on their Facebook page.

This makes them the second act from the city to do so this year, since Wolves’ announcement of a collaboration with the legendary Anoushka Shankar at the festival.

It’s a well-deserved moment for the band that has been redefining the hip hop/rock scene ever since its inception. For those who don’t know, Bombay Bassment comprises of rapper Bobkat, drummer Levin Mendes, bassist Ruell Barretto, and DJ Major C. Their style of music is often indescribable, often blurring the lines between hip hop, rock, reggae, ska, drum n’ bass and funk, making it a very unique live outfit.

The band will perform on the Toad Hall stage at Glastonbury according to the official lineup on the website, and two performances are scheduled; they’ll perform on Thursday and Sunday.

We’re extremely happy for the band, and we wish them the very best!
