Eminem has made quite a few controversial tracks, which although awesome might not go down easy in this day of vocal oppositions. We take a look at some of them!

Few musicians have been as polarising as Eminem, the white messiah to masses who thought there would never be a successful white rapper. He has always been brash and straightforward in his writing as well as opinions. At his highest moments, he has often never cared about what people think about his abrasive lyrics. He has gone to the far lengths of taking a diss at the mentally challenged as well. Needless to say, that wouldn’t go down well with anyone at all in today’s day and age.

Two weeks back, Marshall dropped a new track titled “Campaign Speech” which saw him still using the word “faggot”, make violent threats against women and even transgenders. But in comparison to some of his previous tracks, this seems minuscule.

We take a look at some of his controversially-worded songs!

1. Eminem – Low Down, Dirty

“Bitch getter, hid in the bush like Margot Kidder
Jumped out, killed the bitch and did her
Used to let the babysitter suck my dick when I was littler
Smoke a blunt while I’m titty-fucking Bette Midler”

We don’t have to point out the problems with these verses. He incessantly dabbles in some murder and gruesome facts. No holding back from his side.

2. Eminem – Murder, Murder

“Left the keys in the van, with a gat in each hand
Went up in Eastland and shot a policeman
Fuck a peace plan, if a citizen bystands
The shit is in my hands, here’s your lifespan”

In today’s world where police shootings are on an all time high and tensions are high, this track is not something that would help. The track sees Em talk about gunning down cops and bystanders. If this track came out today, Eminem would probably land up in court or even worse.

3. Eminem – “4 Verses”

“I’m the illest rapper to hold a cordless, patrolling corners
Looking for hookers to punch in the mouth with a roll of quarters”

“Met a retarded kid named Greg, with a wooden leg
Snatched it off and beat him over the fucking head with the peg”

Like the aforementioned infamous jibes at mentally challenged people. Back in 1997, not a lot of people paid attention to his outright brazen calling out of sex workers and the challenged. But today, the scenario would be way worse.

4. Eminem – Just Don’t Give A F***

“Doing too much rush had my face flushed like red blush
Then I went to Jim Beam, that’s when my face grayed
Went to gym in 8th grade, raped the women’s swim team
Don’t take me for a joke, I’m no comedian”

Probably one of the biggest shockers. He mentions rape in a macabre tone and follows it up with a line which proves he’s serious!

5. Eminem – As The World Turns

“…I told this bitch in gym class
That she was too fat to swim laps, she need a Slim Fast
(Who? Me?) Yeah, bitch, you so big
You walked into Vic Tanny’s and stepped on Jenny Craig
She picked me up to snap me like a skinny twig
Put me in a headlock, then I thought of my guinea pig
I felt the evilness and started transformin’
It began stormin’, I heard a bunch of cheering fans swarmin’
Grabbed that bitch by her hair, drug her across the ground
And took her up to the highest diving board
And tossed her down
Sorry coach, it’s too late to tell me stop”

This verse shockingly sees him carry out a rant against a girl in his class who was slightly larger than him. You don’t need to read too much into the lyrics just to realise his hatred for fat women began at quite an early age!

6. Eminem – 97 Bonnie and Clyde

The whole song is a fictionalised version of how Eminem is heading out on a trip to dispose off his ex-wife’s body. The whole song sees some pretty graphic imagery in the form of words and rants. No lyrics required for this one!

7. Eminem – Kim

We end this list with the most infamous Eminem song of all time. ‘Kim’ which also happens to be his ex-wife’s first name was the title of the song for the sole purpose that the song is about him murdering her. The above track – ’97 Bonnie and Clyde’, was a supposed sequel to this, where he, after killing her, goes to dispose her body. The song sees him channel his inner rage towards her in probably the worst way ever. The track shows the violent streaks of domestic violence. The song received a lot of flak that time and we’re pretty sure it would have caused a storm if it were out now!
