1. Lexington Barbecue Festival

The Lexington Barbecue FestivalΒ is held in Uptown Lexington where a nine-block stretch of Main Street is closed to traffic, with banners at either end announcing the Festival with a logo featuring four dancing pigs. Over four hundred exhibitors sell everything from handmade crafts to handmade fudge. A juried competition includes artists and craftsmen from across the country. The festival is for people of all ages and includes a special section of rides and games for children called the Barbecue Carnival & Family Area. Barbecue is served out of three main tents where people work beneath each red and white tent chopping barbecue, fixing coleslaw, and serving pigtail French Fries.
2. Memphis In May International Festival

Considered the planetβs most prestigious barbecue cooking competition, the Memphis In May World Championship Barbecue Cooking Contest, takes place in Downtown Memphis, Tennessee.Β Teams go grill-to-grill for the honour of being named World Champion and a chance at aΒ large prize purse (upwards of $100,000).

The International Bar-B-Q Festival was created in 1979 to celebrate the long-standing reputation and claim-to-fame for βGood Ole Daviess County Bar-B-Qβ and to provide a forum for local charitable organizations to raise funds to support their causes. Held in Owensboro, Kentucky, festival goers can experience the true meaning of BBQΒ andΒ sample mutton, pork, chicken and burgers prepared by the cooking teams fresh from the pits. 4. Blue Ridge BBQ & Music Festival

Presented by the Carolina Foothills Chamber of Commerce, the Blue Ridge Barbecue & Music Festival is considered one of the most popular sanctioned barbecue competitions in the United States. All proceeds benefit the Chamber’s operating budget and help fund the Carolina Foothills Chamber Foundation. The festival features anΒ Arts & Crafts Fair, Music & Entertainment, a Kids Fun Park with rides and games, Hawg Run (motorcycle), Classic Car Show, and lots of mouth-watering BBQ.
