Because the main stage is not always the center of attraction.

Britain’s single day edition of Electric Daisy Carnival has assembled 40 names from every sector of the electronic dance music industry. While main stage headliners will naturally draw the largest crowd, the Sherp has shortlisted five names that don’t make the main stage but will definitely deliver the goods when it comes to dishing out a memorable performance.

1. Jordan Suckley

Jordan Suckley is undoubtedly one of the best trance names of our generation. The impact he has managed to make in the last 3 years is nothing short of commendable. His label Damaged Recordings continues to release one amazing track after another. He’s going b2b with Bryan Kearney – another reason to drop in early at the festival.

2. Sub Focus

When: 9 – 10 pm

Where: circuitGROUNDS Stage

UK homeboy Nick Douwma is expected to draw a major section of the crowd at the festival. Cemented at the top of Britain’s rich Drum n Bass culture, Sub Focus’ innovation has played an important role in the overall nurturing of talent in the UK. His music has propelled him to the top of many Beatport lists and spends an extraordinary amount of time in the studio, perfecting his masterpieces.

3. Ilan Bluestone

When: 1 – 2 pm

Where: cosmicMEADOW Stage

ilan bluestone

In an explosive 18 month period, London-based producer Ilan Bluestone has gone from relative unknown to one of the hottest new acts on the international dance music scene. With recent releases Namaste and Capetown on Anjunabeats, Bluestone has become a permanent fixture in Above & Beyond’s recent DJ sets.

4. Route 94

When: 5 – 6 pm

Where: neonGARDEN

route 94

Preferring a low profile in the dance music scene, this youngster is an ace at creating simmering, groovy beats. Relying on melodious breaks to ease down his heavy bass, his sound has a very hazy effect on the listener. Just 21, there’s a lot more coming from Route 94 in the near future.

5. Pendulum

When: 10 – 11 pm

Where: circuitGROUNDS

pendulum

Pendulum are back after 3 years in the shadows, and them closing the circuitGROUNDS stage will be a fitting end to proceedings at this one day festival. The Knife Party project showed us what they’re capable of, and the return of Pendulum should bring back plenty of memories.
