Of saree-inspired gowns and ditching heels, this year’s Cannes can’t get any better!

It’s that time of the year again. When the crème de la crème of the cinema community walks down the red carpet to witness some of the greatest films of the past year. And on the way, they manage to give us an excessive amounts of fashion goals as well. Check out some of the best red carpet looks from Cannes 2016!

Kristen Stewart

Only Kristen Stewart can manage to rock a simple white crop top on one of the most prestigious red carpets in the world. With the premiere of her movie Cafe Society being held at the festival, she was a sight to behold! Decked from head to toe in classic Chanel, the actress teamed her top with a pretty skirt and divine heels, with perfectly messy hair to go. Her next red carpet avatar was in a delightful shirt dress (Chanel, of course).

True to Stewart fashion, she ditched flashy heels for comfortable sneakers and the simple skirt for a colourful, playful number. Slaying fashion rules like a boss!

Jesse Eisenberg

Someone who was also getting his red carpet fashion on point was her co-star Jesse Eisenberg. The actor has been riding pretty high due to the success of his latest movie, Batman Vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice and that was pretty evident in his red carpet stint. Looking unusually crisp in a smart tux, the gent sure made heads turn, even though he tried to maintain a low key profile.

Julia Roberts

Once again proving why she is the queen of everything, Julia Roberts majorly flipped off the festivals’ ridiculous rules about women required to wear a certain height of heels to be allowed on the red carpet. How does she do this, you ask? By going barefoot, obviously. The goddess showed off her immaculate pedicure as as stepped onto the carpet, she sported her vintage inspired Georgio Armani gown with élan.

Sonam Kapoor

One thing is for sure, Sonam Kapoor can never disappoint when it comes to fashion. The Desi belle totally ruled the red carpet in a glorious saree-inspired gown by Ralph and Russo. Perfect makeup and hair goals aside, we loved how she beautifully incorporated comfort and style all in one fabulous gown.

Also absolutely jaw-dropping was her visionary saree. The girl sure knows how to fuse desi style into haute couture and get it absolutely right.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan

We can very safely name her the queen of Cannes already. It’s officially her 15th year walking down the French carpet and she looks just as radiant as ever. And this year seems to be all about bold choices. The embellished pink gown she wore for Steven Spielberg’s The BFG was designed by Ellie Saab and her pretty hairstyle did the dress full justice.

But what is totally the highlight of her Cannes wardrobe is the Rami Kadi gown that she debuted for the Land of the Moon premier. Because that lip colour completely changed the dynamics of her outfit. Everything you knew about red carpet fashion has just changed. Love love love!

George Clooney

The dapper gent is one of the few who always happens to always look extremely flawless. Well he kind of has to, otherwise posing next to someone as beautiful as Amal Clooney would be quite a challenge! Check him out in all his debonair glory as he walked the carpet with two of the most beautiful women as they pose for the screening of their movie Money Monster.

Kirsten Dunst

Now this was a little unexpected. This was her first time at the film festival and she has surely been a sight for sore eyes. Like this extremely pretty baby pink Gucci gown that was absolutely perfect for her red carpet debut.
