Playing with the concept of time while mixing in real and slow motion shots into an insanely original video; the rock band’s latest music video is truly a work of genius!

If you’ve been following Ok Go’s music videos then you know that the American rock band Β have a knack for forming creative masterpieces. But their latest music video has gone leaps beyond our imagination.

The song titledΒ ‘one moment’ represents the indescribable feeling you can get in just one single moment. To convey its Β true significance; the video, at first, shows the events happening in real time and then slows it down to truly reveal the beauty that lay beneath what seemed like a moment of chaos. By doing this, the video miraculously stretches a 4.2-second shot into a 4-minute video!

Explaining the idea behind the concept, lead vocalist Kulash said,Β “The song β€œThe One Moment” is a celebration of (and a prayer for) those moments in life when we are most alive. Humans are not equipped to understand our own temporariness; It will never stop being deeply beautiful, deeply confusing, and deeply sad that our lives and our world are so fleeting. We have only these few moments. Luckily, among them there are a few that really matter, and it’s our job to find them.

The video was shot in a single moment so the band Β could literally represent the idea and then show the beauty behind the madness.

According to Kulash,” we shot it in a single moment. We constructed a moment of total chaos and confusion, and then unravelled that moment, discovering the beauty, wonder, and structure within.”

What’s even more impressive is that the slow portion of the song isn’t even in one single speed. When asked about just how slow the different events that happened throughout the video were, Kulash said, “It is not all one speed, but each section is at a constant rate, meaning that time does not β€œramp” (accelerate or decelerate). We just toggle from one speed to another. When the guitars explode, we are 200x slower than reality (6,000 frames per second), but Tim and Andy’s short bursts of lip sync (Tim twice and Andy once) are only 3x slower than real life (90 frames per second). The watermelons are around 150x, and the spray paint cans are a little over 60x.”

In addition to creating a marvel, the band also collaborated with Morgan Salt’s #WalkHerWay to support a group of people making a difference in the world.

Kulash says,” They’ve pledged funding and assistance to incredibly inspiring and effective young innovators who are tackling difficult issues like the global water crisis, the plight of young female refugees, systemic failures in arts and music education, and children’s health and wellness education.Β The slogan for this campaign is #WalkHerWalk, a reference to the girl in their iconic logo, and you can learn more about the innovators and the many facets of the campaign at http://MortonSalt.com/WalkHerWalk.”
