Martin Garrix may have made history in Mumbai!

Just a few weeks back, the ever-transcendent Dutch producer, who is just 20 years old, was crowned the #1 DJ in the world by the DJ Mags polls. At that age, he is the youngest DJ to boast of holding that position. You would think, someone, who just achieved that level of success, would be reveling in that glory. But Martin Garrix had some other plans up his sleeve!

He headed over to Mumbai to organize a charity concert, with the sole and noble purpose of educating children! β€œEven after becoming world #1,Β he agreed to make time from his schedule to come to India and donate his collections for educating children” said Shailendra Singh, inceptor of Sunburn.

The tickets were priced at only INR 500 a pop and all the collections made were going to be supplied to the children in need. That being said, the outpour was something no one could imagine. The concert saw a massive 40,000 strong crowd show up at the Mahalaxmi Racecourse on the 10th November!Β Before he even hit the stage, Martin Garrix joined Shailendra Singh in presenting a donation check to Matthew Spacie, founder of Magic Bus.

The money collected will be donated and used for educating over 10,000 children! If that isn’t selfless, we don’t know what is.

More and more artists should take up endeavors like these in the future!
