How apt!
The New Orleans Jazz And Heritage Festival fell victim to bad weather leading to parts of the festival being cancelled. Stevies sets was unfortunately one of them and he had to inform the crowd that the show would not go on. As disappointed fans got ready to leave, Stevie grabbed a bullhorn and sang a few seconds of Prince’s iconic Purple Rain. Given that everyone was stuck in a downpour, the unexpected performance made the atmosphere truly magical. The timing was also somehow perfect as Stevie Wonder had planned to do a Prince tribute at the festival.
