In a spine-chilling video courtesy India TV, several sadhus at the Simhasta Kumbh Mela in Ujjain ganged up and started running after a few policemen, and beat them up while hurling a volley of abuses at the same time.
The sadhus were apparently pissed because a few of their stuff worth 2-3 lakh was stolen from the pandal, and a few cars were damaged too. It seemed like the sadhus decided to take matters into their own hands, and started beating the policemen up.
While there has been no official report on the same, The Sherp will keep you updated on the same. Being sadhus who preach peace and prosperity, violence shouldn’t be the answer to solving issues, especially at the Kumbh Mela.
We hope the sadhus in question are reprimanded and the policemen are alright.
