Richard Branson, founder of Virgin Group, the company behind V Festival, drops a hint about the festival making a comeback this year in Australia.
V Festival, despite the website reassuring us that it’s on “hold at the moment” has been AWOL since 2009. But we all remember the colossal lineup of that spectacular edition – headlined by The Killers and featuring names like The Temper Trap, Snow Patrol, Tame Impala, etc. So even after almost six years of silence, we lit up like Christmas morning when Richard Branson hinted at the possible comeback of the fest.

To quote the man himself, “I think the future of a big music festival should be good because people love live music and I hadn’t realised that Australia had such a setback,” Branson told Hack reporter Tom Tilley. “Where there’s setbacks in a country, that’s where Virgin loves to tread, so maybe we should try to get the team at the V Festival to have another look at Australia … we’ll have a look at it and if we do, you can take full credit for it.”
Let’s hope Branson’s words materialize and V Festival is rejuvenated with another set of remarkable acts.
