UMM is bringing an all new DJ contest and the entries are now live!
UMM (Underground Music Movement), the clothing brand available all across Central Malls in the country, is partnering up with Submerge to curate a four week long DJ competition called UMM Circuit and it’s the perfect platform for DJs to showcase their musical talent. The event will be held in Mumbai, Delhi, Pune, Ahmedabad and Bangalore, where winners from each city will compete for the title.
The entries need to be uploaded online, post which the shortlisted few will be selected through follower votes and mentor recommendations. Four DJs from each city will be selected for the regional rounds which will take place as follows:
30th September – Mumbai (Regional Round)
1st October – Ahmedabad (Regional Round)
8th October – Delhi (Regional Round)
9th October – Pune (Regional Round)
14th October – Bangalore (Regional Round)
16th October – Bangalore (FINALE)
Mentors from the music scene, including Tuhin Mehta, Nawed Khan, DJ Clement, DJ Mash, Julia Bliss, DJ Skip and DJ Ivann, will decide the winner after the course of four weeks.
One winner from the every regional will be selected to compete in Bangalore where the final battle will take place. The winner will win a chance to open for Sick Individuals along with other exciting prizes including exclusive gear, a one year contract with Submerge, and a Pro DJ/producer course from the winning city! That’s the sweetest deal we’ve heard about.
The last date for entry is the 29th of September after which the regional competition will start. The contest for each city closes 1 day before the regional event. This is great platform for aspiring DJs to get an inside look into the good life and hopefully get some recognition in the country. Who knows, the guy sitting next to you could be the new Tiesto!
