Tyler the creator’s latest project ‘Call me if you get lost’ debuted at number 1 on the billboard 200 chart, beating Doja Cat in the process as Tyler outsold her! This is a big win for Tyler as his genre of music is pretty niche, he doesn’t care about numbers, but his last two projects were both critically and commercially acclaimed.
This is his second consecutive #1 on the charts! This year he beat Doja Cat who took the loss without any controversy, same couldn’t be said for last time’s LOSER. When IGOR debuted at number 1, beating DJ Khaled, fans were surprised as Tyler’s music was totally experimental, and DJ Khaled had the biggest names in the industry on his project, and he still came second.
After this, DJ Khaled acted like a sore loser and went on a rant dissing Tyler. He said, “I make music which people play in the bars, the clubs, the saloon, real music that people listen to, not some mysterious shit” He was taking shots at Tyler’s experimental style!
Now after Call me if you get lost went #1 again, Tyler took shots at DJ Khaled by tweeting this.
This is great as this goes to show how fans value music, DJ Khaled is the most generic producer out there, he takes big names and makes generic songs with them that’ll get him big numbers, but the music has no meaning to it. And Tyler has once again proved, why good music will always prevail over generic, money-hungry, trash, music.
