Two American girls with big dreams and shallow pockets took it upon themselves to crowd fund there trip to the Shambala festival in Canada.

‘Two girls, One Car’

When two festival junkies, Jackie Moon and Miranda Rights earned their press passes to the Canada’s premier bass festivalย Shambalaย (August 6th to 11th) they were faced with a challenge : How do they get to the festival with little or no money?

Granted their savings covered the costs of some of their expenses, the price of gasoline to travel to the festival was amounting to around $400. ย So by deeming it a social experiment ( inspired by Gonzo journalism) the girls took to a kickstarter campaign to raise the money, so they can avoid unnecessary and risky pan-handling and hitch-hiking.

The Kickstarter campaign panned out and soon they were one their way to Canada. While travelling from Southern USA to Canada by car, they documented their journey with the hope of drawing parallels between Canadian and American festival culture. Something you can definitely check out on their blog.

They even took their Instragram accounts to thank and appreciate generous donors in the cutest way possible – personalised raps.

The girls also crowdfunded an extra 400 to continue their Almost Famous like adventures. This time, they’ve picked a couch surfing experience in Canada which they are documenting through live blogging and their social media. More power to them!
